This Fluorometer is serving the needs of Inorganic and organic analysis
for over two decades in determination of metal ions as fluorescent
organic complexes, where Colorimetric methods are not sufficiently
sensitive or selective.
Stable light from a mercury vapour lamp is passed through a condensing
lens, a primary filter to permit passage of the spectral band of required
excitation, a sample compartment and a secondary filter to absorb
primary radiant energy but transmit only fluorescent radiation. A
detector located so as not to be affected by the primary radiation
detects the fluorescent radiation. The output of the detector is processed
and the fluorescence of the ion under investigation displayed on the
readout.
